Confidence that doesn’t crumble

The Weekly Reset

Practical encouragement for calm, clear, and sustainable leadership.

Confidence Rooted in Identity

We’ve walked through a lot together this month.
More listening to your own voice.
More courage to take up space.
More room to grow into who you are becoming.

And now we arrive at the foundation underneath it all: confidence rooted in identity.

Confidence connected only to performance can feel fragile because life constantly shifts and changes. When confidence is grounded in who you are, it creates steadiness that carries into every season.

This week, we are focusing less on proving and more on remembering.

A few prompts to guide you:

• Who am I, apart from what I do?
• Where have I connected my worth to outcomes or achievements?
• What truth about my identity do I need to hold onto right now?

Your worth does not disappear on hard days.
Your value is not something you have to chase.
You are already worthy of care, rest, growth, and belonging.

Engagement Ideas

1. June 3: National Chicken Salad Day

Chicken salad is always a crowd favorite, and there are so many fun ways to make it your own. Invite friends or coworkers to join you for a chicken salad tasting. Have everyone bring their favorite version and vote on the most creative or delicious recipe. It is a simple way to connect, laugh, and enjoy time together. Do you have a favorite recipe? I'd love for you to share it with me!

2. National Men’s Health Month + Wear Blue Day

June is Men’s Health Month, and Wear Blue Day on June 19 is an opportunity to raise awareness about men’s physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. Men are often carrying responsibilities for others, and caring for their own health helps them continue showing up for the people and communities they love.

Regular checkups, nourishing food, movement, quality sleep, stress management, and meaningful relationships all support long-term wellness. On June 19, wear your favorite blue shirt, hat, or accessory to encourage the men in your life to prioritize their health and wellbeing.

Things I'm Loving

  1. This Persian cucumber salad. The first time I made it, I ate the entire bowl in one sitting. The combination of flavors is crisp, refreshing, and perfect for summer.
  2. I finally tried Quince’s linen dresses, and they completely lived up to the hype. The linen feels high quality, the fit is beautiful, and they are surprisingly affordable.

The Weekly Reset Practical encouragement for calm, clear, and sustainable leadership. Mid-Year Heart Check After spending time with so many managers at convention, one thought stayed with me during the drive home. Growth doesn't always look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like a conversation that would have felt intimidating six months ago. Sometimes it looks like someone asking a thoughtful question, sharing a new idea, or encouraging another manager. Sometimes it looks like quietly realizing,...

The Weekly Reset Practical encouragement for calm, clear, and sustainable leadership. Last week, I read a devotional on the Uplift app about Romans 2:4: "Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?" I also appreciated how The Message translates this passage: "God is kind, but he's not soft. In kindness he takes us firmly by the hand and leads us into a radical life-change." I've read...

The Weekly Reset Practical encouragement for calm, clear, and sustainable leadership. Hello from College Station, Texas! This week I’m attending the annual RRHA Convention & Trade Show with my coworkers from Hamilton Valley Management. If you're here too, I hope our paths cross! How to Discern Your Next Step Discernment is one of those words we don't use every day, but it's a skill we all need. Simply put, discernment is the ability to see clearly, understand what matters, and make wise...
