Stop Shrinking

This week might stretch you a little, but in the best way.

Over the past few weeks, we've talked about releasing pressure and reclaiming your voice. This week, we're taking it one step further: learning to stop shrinking.

So many of us have learned to make ourselves smaller, to fit in, keep the peace, avoid being seen as high-maintenance, or spare ourselves discomfort.

But confidence doesn't grow in hiding.

It grows when we allow ourselves to show up fully as who we are.

This week is about taking up the space you were meant to occupy, not through loudness or perfection, but through authenticity.

Try reflecting on these questions:

  • Where have I been making myself smaller?
  • What strengths have I been downplaying?
  • Where can I take up just 10% more space today?

You don't have to become someone new.

You simply have to stop hiding who you already are.

You are not "too much."

You never were.

Engagement Ideas

1.Say Something Nice Day – June 1

Give someone a genuine compliment. Encouragement has a way of boosting both the giver and the receiver. A few kind words might make a bigger difference than you realize.

2. Sun Safety Awareness

June is Beautiful in Your Skin Month, Cancer from the Sun Month, and Cataract Awareness Month. Consider inviting a medical professional to speak about sun safety, skin health, and eye protection. One informative session can support multiple wellness observances while helping everyone enjoy the summer safely.

Things I'm Loving

  1. I've mentioned Alli Worthington before, and she has some fantastic episodes on confidence and personal growth. One of my favorites is The Myth of Being Low Maintenance, which fits perfectly with this week's theme. If you've ever struggled with taking up space or speaking up for yourself, it's worth a listen.
  2. I've shared my love for LMNT before, but they have new flavors! Pink Lemonade may be my favorite yet. It has the same electrolyte content, but somehow tastes less salty to me. It's refreshing, especially during these hot summer days.
  3. This delicious salad! I love that I am getting every color of the rainbow in this dish. It's great for crowds because it makes a lot!
A Thought to Carry With You
"You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure about you. We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us."
— Marianne Williamson

The Weekly Reset Practical encouragement for calm, clear, and sustainable leadership. Mid-Year Heart Check After spending time with so many managers at convention, one thought stayed with me during the drive home. Growth doesn't always look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like a conversation that would have felt intimidating six months ago. Sometimes it looks like someone asking a thoughtful question, sharing a new idea, or encouraging another manager. Sometimes it looks like quietly realizing,...

The Weekly Reset Practical encouragement for calm, clear, and sustainable leadership. Last week, I read a devotional on the Uplift app about Romans 2:4: "Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?" I also appreciated how The Message translates this passage: "God is kind, but he's not soft. In kindness he takes us firmly by the hand and leads us into a radical life-change." I've read...

How to Discern Your Next Step Discernment is one of those words we don't use every day, but it's a skill we all need. Simply put, discernment is the ability to see clearly, understand what matters, and make wise...
