To say the world feels a little chaotic right now may be the understatement of the year.
Even when we try to block out the noise, set healthy boundaries, and protect our peace, chaos still has a way of finding us. Sometimes it’s the heaviness of the outside world. Sometimes it’s something as simple as a missed alarm that suddenly puts the whole morning ten minutes behind.
So how do we find balance, peace, and clarity when life feels loud?
The truth is, outside of the way to heaven, there is rarely one “right” way to do things. What helps me find clarity may be different from what helps you, and that’s okay.
But if life has been feeling noisy, here are a few simple ways to begin turning the volume down.
Simple Steps to Turn Down the Chaos
1) Do a brain dump
Set a timer for five minutes and write down everything on your mind:
- what you need to do
- what you want to do
- what you’re worried about
- what keeps replaying in your thoughts
When the timer goes off, circle only what truly matters right now and let the rest wait.
2) Ask honest questions
Pause and ask yourself:
- What feels heavy because it is not mine to carry?
- What is one area where chaos is stealing my peace?
These questions alone can bring so much clarity.
3) Meditate on truth
Spend time with:
- 1 Corinthians 14:33
- Psalm 46:10
Both verses gently remind us that God is not the author of confusion, but of peace.
4) Pray for clarity
Ask the Lord to quiet the noise around you so you can hear what matters most.
5) Remove one distraction
Choose one distraction to remove from your day:
- unnecessary scrolling
- notifications
- a task that can wait
- something you said yes to too quickly
Sometimes clarity comes from subtraction.
You may discover that much of the chaos you are juggling can actually be released because it is not yours to carry today.
Engagement Ideas

1.April 10 — National Siblings Day
Reach out to your siblings and catch up. Bonus points if you can spend time together in person.
If you don’t have siblings nearby, connect with a close friend who feels like family.
These trusted relationships can be wonderful mirrors when life feels heavy. Ask them:
Do you see me carrying something I need to put down?

2. April 12 — National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day
One of my all-time favorite comfort foods.
Whether you love classic bread with American cheese or prefer fancy cheeses, toppings, and artisan bread, this is such a fun little holiday to enjoy.
If you’re in the mood for community, make it a grilled cheese bar with different breads, cheeses, and spreads and see what creative combinations everyone comes up with.

Things I'm Loving
- Crunchy Cheesy Ranch Chicken: This delicious baked chicken recipe from Kale Junkie was a huge hit at my book club last week. It’s crunchy, cheesy, flavorful, and perfect for spring dinners.
- Zyia Solstice Hoodie: This lightweight hoodie is unbelievably soft and the perfect layer for spring weather. I’m honestly obsessed and want one in every color.
